Rinaton Choir
Under the baton of Avraham Peri, the Rinaton Choir is a world-renowned choir which accompanies Cantors from all over the world, especially in the United States, Canada, Australia and of course in Israel. The Rinaton Choir is comprised of several accomplished individuals, namely Avraham Peri, Amnon Seelig, Anatoly Krasik, David E. Levine and Oded Amir.
Through the commitment and generosity of a select but growing number of donars, the Rinaton Choir has graced the Bima of the Calgary Beth Tzedec for many years and has helped to make our High Holiday Celebrations both memorable and uniquely enjoyable.

Name: Avraham Peri (Conductor)
After a long and distinguished career, Mr. Peri retired from the Israel Defense Forces and devoted himself entirely to music. He enrolled in a number of seminars and workshops with a focus on conducting at the Academy of Music in Jerusalem.
Before picking up the baton, Mr. Peri sang for decades with well known artistic choirs including the Tel Aviv Philharmonic Choir, the Opera Horus and the Israel National Choir Rinat.
Mr. Peri founded the Rinaton Choir and has proudly performed extensively activity in Israel and abroad. Additionally, Mr. Peri has served the community in Sydney, Australia as well as other communities in West Hampton NY and he also participated in the Jewish Music Festival (Musica Sacra) in Bavaria, Germany, and was invited to perform with the chorus of direct broadcast by Radio Brussels.

Name: Amnon Seelig (Bass)
Born in Munich Germany, Mr. Seelig studied voice under the direction of Mrs Massini and Music Theory at the Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance. Mr. Seelig also studied voice with Prof. Donald Litaker at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe (M. Mus.). In Israel Mr. Seelig sang in renowned choirs and ensembles such as the Israeli Vocal Singers, the Israel Philharmonia Singers, the Jerusalem Music Academy Chamber Choir and the FourPlay Quartet which he also founded. In Germany Mr. Seelig sang with the Kammerchor Stuttgart, the Rheinische Kantorei, the Vocalconsort Berlin, the Vocalensemble Rastatt and other choirs and ensembles. Mr. Seelig is a the bass singer and a founding member of Vokalquintett Berlin and he is also the assistant conductor and music arranger of the Munich Synagogue choir. |

Name: Anatoly Krasik
Born and musically educated in the Ukraine, Mr. Krasik immigrated to Israel in 1990 when he joined and continues to work with the New Israeli Opera of Tel Aviv as well as other musical collaborations including the renowned Rinaton Choir.

Name: David E. Levine (Tenor)
Born in the United States, Mr. Levine immigrated to Israel in 1975 where he studied voice with Raphael Arié and Netanya Dovrat at the Rubin Academy of Music at Tel Aviv University. As a soloist, Mr. Levine appeared at the Bernstein Festival in Bernstein’s “Kiddush”, he held the leading role in Carissimi’s Oratorio “Jephtah” at the Israel Festival and he is a regular soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
Mr. Levine is a guest singer and soloist with the Philharmonic Choir of Tel Aviv and has participated in the Haifa Symphony Orchestra’s production of Puccini’s “La Boheme” in the role of “Parpignol”. Mr. Levine also sang the role of “Parpignol” in the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra’s production of “La Boheme” under the direction of conductor Guiseppe Sinopoli. The Ramat Gan Chamber Choir under the direction of conductress Hana Tzur has engaged Mr. Levine as tenor soloist in their performances of Mozart’s Long Mass in C major, Janacek’s “Otcenas” (first performance in Israel), Bach’s Easter Oratorio, Saint-Saens’ Christmas Oratorio, Bach’s B minor Mass and Kurt Weill’s “Kiddush” (during the choir’s tour of Spain). |

Name: Oded Amir
An Israeli computer software development engineer by day, Mr. Amir is an accomplished vocalist by night who lives in Tel Aviv and has sang with some of the most recognized and prominent choirs and musical ensembles in Israel, namely the Cameran Singers, Rinat, the Perfect Fifth quintet and the New Israel Vocal Ensemble. Additionally, Mr. Amir has been a featured soloist with the forementioned groups where he worked under the direction of notable Israeli and international conductors including Avner Ittay, Anderw Parrott, Frieder Bernius, John Poole and Anthony Rooley.
